Why Bacterial Vaginosis Home Remedies Don’t Work!

The truth is, only a handful of women out of the many thousands who use bacterial vaginosis home remedies, go on to cure their BV permanently. This is not because bacterial vaginosis home remedies don’t work, but rather because most women just have no idea how to use these remedies in a way that actually does work.

Also, most of the bacterial vaginosis home remedies that you hear about, say on women’s forums on the internet, are only designed to give short-term results. They can however, be used in combination with other remedies to offer longer lasting and permanent results, but you have to know about the right combinations that have been proven to work.

Bacterial Vaginosis Home Remedies That Don’t Give Permanent Results

Many women recommend douching as an effective home remedy for bacterial vaginosis. Douching using certain chemicals such as hydrogen peroxide, vinegar or betadine can be very effective at killing off the overgrown bad bacteria inside your vagina.

But just like antibiotics, douching does not address the root cause of BV. It simply kills off all the vaginal bacteria, only for them to grow back again in a few weeks or months time. You will find that women who use douching for bacterial vaginosis, end up using it routinely. But that’s not what you want.

What you want is a permanent solution that will get rid of your BV so you never have to use another bacterial vaginosis treatment again!

If however you insist on using a douche for quick short-term relief, I advise you opt for the hydrogen peroxide douche, since hydrogen peroxide has a lactobacilli-sparing effect, where it kills the bad bacteria but not so many of the good bacteria.

A hydrogen peroxide douche is also one of those remedies you can combine with other remedies that have different modes of action to provide true, lasting results.

Bacterial Vaginosis Home Remedies That Work Only When Used Correctly

One of the most common bacterial vaginosis home remedies that women recommend everywhere and all over the internet, is the use of probiotics – yogurts or tablets containing live strains of good bacteria.

Unfortunately what you don’t see is someone telling you how to use probiotics correctly – in a way that is proven to actually give permanent results.

If you look around on the internet, you will find that a lot of women are complaining that probiotics and yogurts just aren’t working. This is because they have no idea how to use probiotics correctly – how much to take, what to take it with, when to take it, what specific strain of live bacteria have been shown to give the best results…

See, probiotics are not very good at killing the overgrown bad bacteria that you get in BV, but they do an excellent job at forming and maintaining a healthy vaginal environment after the bad bacteria have been killed. This is where BV home remedies such as douching and even antibiotics CAN be useful in treating BV permanently.

Douche or take antibiotics first, and then introduce probiotics into your regime. But it is important to know exactly when to start the probiotics. Leave it too late and it’s unlikely to work.
